I prayed, why I don’t see any miracle happening?

Many of us hope to see a miracle the moment we pray. We long for God to intervene quickly, especially when the situation feels urgent. But through my own journey, I have come to understand that God often works in ways and in timing we do not expect.

When my son was diagnosed, our hearts were desperate for a miracle. As Christians, we pursed every avenue of faith that we know. We went to church faithfully every Sunday. During every communion taking, we declared and claimed healing over him as pastors speaking. We invited serval pastors to come to the hospital and lay their hands on my son, prayed over him at his bedside. We even attended a healing event at our church, believing that God could touch him there.

But despite all our efforts, nothing seemed to change. His condition remained the same, and I found myself asking God why?!

It wasn’t until 2022 that something shifted in my heart as Jesus Himself came and had blessed me with a private lesson for 9 months’ time… Long story short, I came across a teaching by Pastor John Osteen about the Law of Faith. Through that message, God began to open my eyes- showing me that faith is not simply about activity or emotion, but about standing firm on His Word, trusting His timing, and believing even when we cannot yet see.

This understanding became a turning point in my life…

Here comes my story … In the year 2022, while the effects of Covid-19 still weighed heavily upon our daily lives, my husband and I were both found to be positive. In that moment of crisis, our foremost concern was for our son, Jadon, as there would be no one at home capable of caring for him. After much prayer, and by the grace of God, KK hospital agreed to admit Jadon, with the compassionate support of social workers and nurses from Star PALS.

What followed felt to us like the breaking of the world. On that very day, a rare and severe hernia – measuring six inches – was discovered within our son’s body. We were informed that, given the diagnosis and the complexity of his condition, surgery was the only possible course of action. Yet we were also warned that the risk was grave: there was a very high likelihood that our son would not survive the operation.

One evening, before we reached the decision to proceed with the operation, a small group of church friends gathered with us in prayer via Zoom. As we partook of Holy Communion and they spoke shalom peace over our family, the presence of God became profoundly real to me. In that sacred moment, Jesus entered my son’s hospital ward and gently touched my heart.

Instantly, my tears were dried, and the heavy grief I had been carrying was transformed into a quiet, gracious smile. I felt an overwhelming warmth of God’s presence flow through my chest, surrounding me with comfort – like being wrapped in a soft, protective blanket within the coldness of the hospital room. It was the unmistakable peace of Christ, surpassing all understanding.

In the days that followed, the Lord graciously led me into a season of personal instruction that spanned nine months. Throughout that time, He invited me to walk by faith each day, sustained by the same shalom peace He had so lovingly imparted. As I faithfully applied the teachings imparted by Pastor John during the darkest season of my life, the Lord answered every prayer I lifted before Him and graciously bestowed upon me a succession of unfolding miracles.

As Parents, we must first renew our mind before entering the battle against the forces of darkness.

When my son was first diagnosed, a multitude of voices arose – voice that unsettled my heart and shook the very foundation of my faith in the God whom I had faithfully worshipped each Sunday. Doubt crept in where trust had once resided. I remember distinctly one late afternoon, after returning home from church, when the weight of my anguish became unbearable. In a moment of deep pain and confusion, I cast my Bible upon the sofa and declared to my husband, “I will never go to church again.”

My heart was consumed with anger toward God, and my spirit wrestled with unanswered questions. I asked God why did He allow this suffering to come upon my son? Why did He allow such a tragedy? In that season, faith was not absent – but it was wounded, searching, and crying out from the depths of sorrow.

In the year 2022, I listened to this sermon preached by Pastor John Osteen. Through his words, the Holy Spirit spoke directly into the depths of my heart, awakening me from the anger, confusion and spiritual blindness that had taken hold of my soul. In that moment, I was reminded of an eternal truth: God is not the author of suffering. I came to understand that it was the work of the enemy that brought disease and destruction, but it is God who brings healing, restoration, and hope. Even in the darkest valley, He does not abandon His children. Rather, He walks with us, lifting us out of despair and leading us towards His light.

After Pastor John went on to share the testimony of his sister, Mary, something stirred deeply within my spirit. A righteous anger arose within me – an awakening to the reality of spiritual opposition. In that moment, I understood that this was not merely a physical struggle for my son, but a spiritual one.

I realized that I could no longer remain passive. I was called to stand firm in faith and to engage in spiritual warfare – not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of darkness that seek to steal, kill and destroy my family.

With renewed conviction, I resolved to rise and take my stand, trusting in the authority given through Jesus Christ. For I understood this battle did not belong to me alone, but to the Lord, who empowers His people to resist the Devil and to walk in victory through faith.

I was given only two months to prepare in prayer for my son’s major and high-risk operation. In that sacred and critical season, I chose to follow the teaching I had received from Pastor John. With deliberate resolve, I rejected every source of distraction that threatened to undermine my faith. I declined meetings and conversations that, though well – intentioned, carried voices of fear, uncertainty, or despair.

Instead, I shut the door firmly on all negativity and guarded my heart and mind with vigilance. I refused to grant my voice the power to shake my trust in God. My focus was singular – to stand on His promises, to remain steadfast in prayer, and to place my full confidence in the Lord who heals, restores, and sustains.

In that time of waiting, I learned that faith must be protected, for what we allow into our hearts will either strengthen our spirit or weaken our resolve. And I chose to stand firm.

Listen to Pastor John Osteen's sermons - the ones about faith and healing only. Listen to the same sermons again and again, daily.

A few days after I experienced the overwhelming warmth of God’s presence that evening, I followed the guidance He placed upon my heart. The Lord instructed me to take a notebook, listen attentively to the sermons of Pastor John Osteen on healing and faith, carefully record the teachings, and incorporate the key principles into my daily prayers.

As I listened to each message from Pastor John, I continually find fresh revelation and deeper understanding. Through his teachings, I have learned how to believe God, how to pray with confidence, how to exercise violent faith, and how to walk according to the Law of Faith while seeking the Lord for my son’s healing.

I have come to understand that human doctors are limited in their abilities. When human’s medical science reaches its end, God’s power begins. I have also learned that there is a Law of Faith that governs the spiritual realm. When we pray in alignment with this Law – believing, standing firm, and refusing to waver – God moves in response to faith, and miraculous healing becomes possible.

We are called to partake in Holy Communion and to pray with the awareness that we are engaged in a spiritual battle - yet not alone. We stand with the Almighty God, clothed in His authority, and supported by His mighty angelic armies. With faith anchored in Christ's sacrifice and victory, we pray not in fear, but in confidence, knowing that the Lord of Hosts goes before us and fights on our behalf.

I’m sharing this sermon by Pastor Joseph Prince with all of you. He is the Senior Pastor of New Creation Church in Singapore, which is also my home church.

Several years ago, before Covid-19 pandemic, I attended church every Sunday with my husband and our son. Through the teachings of Pastor Prince, I came to understand the profound power of the Holy Communion.

One particular testimony has remained deeply etched in my heart. There was an elderly man who was gravely ill, and his family began to partake of the Holy Communion daily at his bedside, joining together in prayer each time. With every passing day, after each time they prayed and partook of the Communion, his condition steadily improved.

After approximately six to eight days of daily Holy Communion and united prayer, the man was completely taken off oxygen support. This testimony powerfully reveals the life- giving and healing power found in the Lord’s table when received in faith.

Holy Communion is one of the most sacred and powerful ways by which believers commune with God in prayer. Each time we pray and partake of the Holy Communion, we do so in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice upon the cross, proclaiming His death until He comes again. This sacred act is not merely a ritual; it is a spiritual declaration of faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

What, then, does this truly mean for us as believers? And how often must we pray before we witness the manifestation of miracles? Through my walk of faith, I have learned that there is great power in persistent prayer. Persistent prayer means praying daily (I used to pray five to six time every single day for my son’s operation to be successful), without ceasing, standing firm in faith until the promised miracle is received.

Many of us has been ignoring the very important word in this verse "OUR DAILY BREAD". From my own experience with seeking God diligently for my son's deliverance, I had learned that this daily bread (the biscuit we use for partaking Holy Communion) is for everyday basis.

Many may ask, “What do you mean by that, Mary? Exactly how many times must I pray, and for how many days?” The answer is not found in counting prayers or measuring time, but in maintaining unwavering faith. We continue to pray- not because God has not heard us- but because we are aligning our hearts with His Word, remaining steadfast until faith gives birth to the miracle.

A careful reading of the Bible reveals that many passages teach the necessity of continuous and persistent prayer. Not every miracle granted by God occurs instantaneously; some require endurance, faith, and steadfast perseverance in prayer.

Example 1:

When Abraham was 99 years old and Sarah was 89, God promised them they would have a son the next year. Although Sarah was past the age of childbearing, she gave birth to Isaac as promised. It took them 25 years before they had the child. Abraham’s faith never wavered, and he kept believing, praying and declared “I am the father of many nations.”

Example 2: 1 kings 18:41-19:8

The Bible passage described Elijah praying repeatedly for rain, where he persists in prayer while sending his servant seven times to look for signs of rain. This scene shows Elijah on Mount Carmel, bowed in earnest prayer until a small cloud appears.

Example 3: John 15:26

This story telling us that the disciples prayed nine days while waiting for the Helper. On the tenth day, God sent the Helper down from Heaven.

Example 4: Daniel 10:2-3

The Bible story of Daniel describes a period of 21 days (three weeks) of prayer and fasting, during which Daniel sought understanding regarding the future of people. Although his prayer was heard from the first day, an angel was delayed by spiritual opposition until Micheal the archangel arrived to help.

You may also ask, “You shared that in the year 2022 you prayed five to six times each day. Why did you pray so frequently, Mary?”

The answer is simple. Yet deeply rooted in faith. My longing to see my son live was so profound that I felt compelled to seek the Lord without ceasing. I desire to ensure that my prayers rose continually before Him. Scripture instructs us, “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and keep on knocking, and the door shall be opened.”

Believing this promise with my whole heart, I obeyed what the Word of God commanded. I sought Him earnestly, I knocked persistently, and I trusted that the Lord Jesus hears the cries of a mother’s heart. My repeated prayers were not born of doubly, but of unwavering faith in the truth of His Word.

Do you know it took me about two years of persistent prayers before I sought healing from my son’s dystonia? Do you after how long I had been praying before I began to notice signs of improvement? More than two months!  During periods when symptoms of depression overwhelmed me and I was unable to continue praying, the dystonia worsened and returned. If I stopped praying for a few weeks’ time, the condition would deteriorate again, requiring me to begin the process of prayer anew for another more than two months. Until I rose up and fought! I didn’t allow the symptoms of depression win over God’s power and continued to pray anyway… Dystonia was finally dying…

Through this experience, I came to believe that just as God has HIs armies, opposing forces also have their own. These dark forces seek to hinder the fulfillment of God’s promises out of hostility toward God and His creation.

Many people prayed only a few times, see no immediate change, and then grow discouraged. In their disappointment, they begin to blame God. Some place their hope in the prayers of others, yet when results still do not appear, they draw a quiet but damaging conclusion: God is sovereign; miracles simply do not happen for everyone. If a miracle occurs, we praise the Lord. If it does not, we call it misfortune. What more can we do?

I once held the same belief.

But in 2022, the Lord taught me a deeper truth: it is not the faith of others that moves God on our behalf- it is our own faith. While intercession is precious and biblical, God calls each of us into a personal relationship of trust, persistence, and belief.

Faith is not passive resignation to chance; it is active reliance on God’s promises. When our faith grows, our hearts align with His will, and we learn to stand firmly, believing- not because circumstances change immediately, but because God is faithful.

Worship is an unusual yet powerful means of spiritual defense in times of conflict with dark forces. Since 2022, I have engaged in personal worship of God almost daily, as frequently as possible.

As Christians, we are taught to worship God when we gather in church each Sunday. However, many of us do not fully understand the significance of the Act of Worship. According to Pastor John’s demonstration, worship is repeatedly emphasized throughout the Bible, and the people of Scripture expressed their faith through wholehearted worship of God.

I recall one of Pastor John’s sermons in which he said, “Do you know what singing and praising mean? They mean that I believe God. I believe God will defeat this army- the enemy, the devil.” Through our words of prayer and our personal acts of worship and praise, we demonstrate our faith in God.

In 2022, during my son’s nine-month hospital stay, I began each morning by worshiping God alone for at least thirty to fifty minutes before breakfast. Through worship, I learned that songs of deliverance strengthened my faith and assured me of God’s abiding presence.

After the time of worship, I continued by listening to Pastor John’s sermons on faith and healing during my breakfast. While I was with my son, Jadon, in the hospital, I partook Holy Communion and prayed by faith, and worshiped, followed again by listening to Pastor John Osteen’s sermons. This spiritual discipline continued for nine months, during which my faith remained firmly anchored in God and never wavered.

Pastor John stated in one of his sermons," Singing and praising means I believe God. I believe God is going to defeat this army of my enemies."

  31. Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and
gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed
the shell to her ear and screamed. There
was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had
    to tell someone!

if you knew where I could find a captcha plugin for my comment form?

I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having
trouble finding one? Thanks a lot!

  35. It’s really a cool and helpful piece of info. I am happy that you
just shared this helpful information with us.
Please keep us up to date like this. Thank you for sharing.

  36. I believe what you posted was very reasonable. However, what about this?
suppose you were to write a killer headline? I ain’t saying your content isn’t good., but
what if you added something to possibly get people’s attention? I
mean I prayed, why I don’t see any miracle happening?

    – FusionWeb is kinda boring. You ought to peek at Yahoo’s front page and note how they create post headlines to grab people to click.
You might try adding a video or a picture or two to get people interested about everything’ve written. In my opinion, it
would make your website a little livelier.

    1. Greetings! Firstly, please allow me to make it clear that this blog is NOT for any entertaining purpose, but ONLY for those families whose children are diagnosed with fatal genetic diseases like my son, those who are looking for hope in Jesus Christ – the Lord our healer! Secondly, I DON’T NEED TO PEEK AT YAHOO’S OR GOOGLE’S FRONT PAGE TO BE POPULAR, because I’m doing this to help those broken-hearted families like us to build up their faith in God for miracle healing of our children. So, if you find my blog is boring, then it means my blog is not for you, thanks.

  37. I’ve learn several excellent stuff here. Certainly price bookmarking for revisiting.
I wonder how so much effort you place to make any
    such great informative web site.

  38. Greetings I am so glad I found your web site, I really found you by accident, while I was searching on Askjeeve for something else, Anyways
I am here now and would just like to say thanks for a
incredible post and a all round exciting blog (I also love the theme/design), I don’t
have time to read it all at the moment but I have bookmarked it and also added
in your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will be back to read a lot more,
Please do keep up the great work.

  39. An intriguing discussion is worth comment. I do believe that
you ought to publish more about this subject,
it might not be a taboo matter but usually people don’t speak about such topics.
To the next! All the best!!

  40. Hey there! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from

Secondly, as for every idea and thoughts that I’m sharing here (all the contents) are from God (I’m being honest about this). Thanks.

  43. Hey there would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using?
I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique.

P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!

  44. I’m really impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your blog.
