Have you ever found yourself wondering why, even after praying so sincerely and wholeheartedly for healing from a specific medical condition, you have not yet seen a sign of change or experienced the miracle you have been hoping for?
Many faithful believers have walked this same path- lifting their prayers to God with deep faith, yet waiting, sometimes with heavy hearts, for His answer.
I remember after the first instantaneous miracle occurred, more than five years passed without me witnessing any noticeable change in my son’s condition. My son, Jadon, was often sleepy and drowsy throughout most of the day. His eyes always appeared so tired, and he would hardly turn his head to look at me.
During those years, I stopped praying. I believed that the first miracle God had given was enough. I thought everything would eventually be alright. I held on to the hope that, as time passed, I would see my son talk, walk, eat, and grow to become a normal boy like other children…
To pray for a child like my son who has been diagnosed with a rare and fatal genetic disorder that typically manifests with symptoms such as hypotonia (low muscle tone), developmental delay, seizures, dystonia, brain damage, among other serious complications.
Is it possible to receive miraculous healing from God and witness him become completely normal overnight solely through prayer, for example:
“Lord Jesus, I believe that by Your stripes, my son is healed from Menkes Disease. I believe You took his pain and bore all of his suffering on the cross, I claim Your healing from Heaven, in Jesus’ name, Amen”?
Well, based on my personal experience, the answer appears to be no. When I prayed in this manner only a few times per week over the course of several months, I do not observe any miraculous healing. To be honest, I did not see any change.
In the year 2022, during one of the darkest seasons of my life, when my heart was searching for help and my soul longed for someone- anyone who might understand the depth of my struggle, the Holy Spirit of God visited me in a sacred and unmistakable way.
As I have previously shared on the front page, the Lord Jesus, in His infinite mercy and grace, led me through a profound nine-month season of private teaching from Heaven. It was not merely a time of reflection, but a divinely appointed journey of instruction, correction, comfort, and revelation.
Scripture teaches that God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Therefore, I chose to follow the Word and obey what God had instructed. For nine months, I sought the Lord with all of my heart, day and night.
In His faithfulness and mercy, God answered every desire of my heart. While diligently seeking God in 2022, I undertook all of the following actions as I faced the possibility that my son, Jadon, might not survive the operating table.
I. Having watched movies named The Life of Jesus… I have come to more deeply understand the power, goodness, and majesty of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Through these portrayals, I have witnessed the wonders of God – how He raised Lazarus from the dead after four days of his death, healed the paralyzed and the disabled, and turned water into fine wine. All that Lord Jesus did reveal not only His divine authority and grace, but also His boundless compassion and love for us.
Jesus Himself said,” I am the bread of life. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one feeds on me will live because of me.”
Therefore, each time when I partake in Holy Communion beside my son’s hospital bed, I bring these sacred words into my prayers, holding fast to His promises, His sacrifice, His goodness and His faithfulness. Here is an example of a small part of my daily prayer:
“Lord Jesus, You are the resurrection and life. You said we eat Your flesh and drink Your blood remains in You, and You in my son, Jadon. Just as the living Father sent You and my baby Jadon shall live because of the Father, so Jadon who feeds on You will live because of You.”
II. First of all, I must win the battle of my own mind before I set my heart on prayers.
After I listened to this sermon by Pastor John, I have realized that we are actually in a battle with the dark forces that our eyes cannot see.
I have come to understand that our children are never born with Menkes Disease or other fatal genetic problems such as SMA. This is a demonic power that can be broken and driven out of our lives! We must rebel and resist the Devil, and chase them out of our children’s bodies.
Why do we accept the medical fact that our babies must die while knowing the very truth that was already given from God?
Beloved broken-hearted parents, how I wish I could make you understand that we should dry our tears and raise up to go for our own battles to fight the demons!
III. The Bible teaches us that without faith it is impossible to please God, and faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of God.
As I was seeking God by listening to Pastor John Osteen’s sermons on faith and healing day and night, I learned to pray in a more effective and intentional manner.
Every Christian has his/her own way of praying. In many churches, believers are taught to pray in a manner similar to the following:
“Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your precious son, Jesus Christ. He died on the cross so that we can be made whole. Lord Jesus, You had borne all my sickness and carried my pain. I believe that by Your stripes, I am healed. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
over time, I have learned to compose my own prayer by following a certain order, as taught by Pastor John Osteen in the sermon I have shared with you above.
1. I usually start my prayer with LUKE 11:2-4
Each time when I pray for my son, with a small piece of biscuit (Jesus’ body) and red/pink color drink (Jesus’ blood) in my hands, my prayer always starts with the following verse:
“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.“
2. There is great power in the name of Jesus. Talk about God’s power and how great He is in my prayer to manifest my faith.
Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ,
We affirm with unwavering faith that the name of Jesus is above every other name. At His name, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess His lordship. There is no authority greater, no power higher, and no name more exalted in heaven and on earth.
In our prayers, we lift His name on high, declaring His greatness, His majesty, and His sovereign power. I simply pray,” Lord Jesus, Your name is above every other name, You made the heaven and the earth. Nothing is too hard for Thee.”
When we pray, knowing that we do not fight in our own strength, nor do we rely on human might, for we are engaged in spiritual battle that transcends the natural realm.
We pray to the God who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or even imagine. His power knows no limits, His wisdom no bounds, and His promises never fail. We exalt the name of Jesus, to walk in the spirit, and to trust in the One who reigns victorious.
3. Each time when I partake communion – “the blood” part, I mention God’s forgiveness to me.
Here is an example of a part of my daily prayer:
This cup is the new covenant which You have poured down from heaven for the forgiveness of my sins. We are (my son and I) the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
IV. There are angle armies living in heaven who are fighting for the children of God.
Talking about God’s kingdom, we all know that He has all the power and authority over heavens and earth. Angels and angel armies are surrounding God’s throne, and God’s power, no weapon that formed against us shall ever prosper.
