Receiving a diagnosis of Menkes Disease for my child could be a parent’s worst nightmare. We were told by genetic specialists that there is no cure and no treatment available anywhere in the world. The doctors admitted they could not predict what would happen or when. One specialist explained that there were two ways our son, Jadon might pass away:
First, that one day, without warning, his brain could simply stop functioning. Secondly, that he might eventually lose the ability to breathe on his own due to complications with his lungs.
I was suffering from depression and had already decided to commit suicide if someday Jadon passes away, as all the doctors came to us with all the bad news. I was prescribed and given strong dosage of sleeping pills, and I even had hidden the whole bottle somewhere in our bedroom where nobody knows. Until one day, Holy Spirit came down from Heaven, touched my Jadon and healed him. Everything has changed…
The adorable little boy you see in the photos below is my son, Jadon. The photo on the left side shows how he looked like when he was over months old when he was first diagnosed with Menkes Disease. On the right side shows how he looked like at 10 months old AFTER the instantaneous miracle happened, which I’m about to share with you all here.
Menkes Disease, also known as Kinky Hair Disease. Yet, you can clearly see, when God breathed life into his dead genes what was once dead or lacking, nothing can remain the same!
Miracles are real and God is real. God is closer than you may think!
It all began on a sunny afternoon, around four o’clock. as I was standing by the large windows of Ward 56 at KKH hospital, holding my son in my arms, I felt utterly hopeless and helpless as I recalled the devastating words the doctors had spoken to me. Jadon and I were alone in that corridor. As I gazed out at the cars passing on the street below, I started talking to God…
Here is what I said to Jesus …
“God if you are real, please give me a sign so that I know you are here. I’m so helpless Lord. Jesus, if you are willing, you can heal my Jadon. The doctors said my son has Menkes Disease and he cannot live for long. I cannot live without Jadon. Please help me with my unbelief! I repent all my sins (I gave Jesus a whole list of bad things I did in my life and confessed before Him). I know only you can heal my baby, give me a sign God! Lord, you breathe life into my Jadon’s genes. Copper is all he needs! Lord, you breathe life into his ability to absorb and release copper in his body and bring ceruloplasmin level back to normal. I believe that by your strips my Jadon is healed. I believe I receive, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
Do you know what happened 10 minutes later after I talked to God and prayed?
Sunlight streamed through the window and rested gently on my son's forehead... I saw his hair was changing color instantaneously!! YES! Jadon's hair started to change color, from white and grey to brown color right in front of my own eyes!

I remember when Jadon was about two years old, we took him for a follow-up appointment at the dermatology clinic. The female doctor who saw him was astonished by how beautiful his hair looked. She asked us “Would you mind if I let my supervisor come and have a look at Jadon’s hair? There’s actually a seminar on Menkes Disease happening next door right now- I’d love for them to see Jadon’s hair.”
We agreed, and a group of senior and junior doctors soon came in and began examining Jadon’s hair using a small microscope. I could tell they were genuinely surprised. One of the senior doctors asked, ” Mummy and daddy, would you mind if we took a small sample of Jadon’s hair for further testing? Please don’t worry- there will be no charge. This is purely for our study purpose.”
We agreed, and a few weeks later, my husband received a phone call from one of the doctors who said they had found something quite interesting that most of the hair sample they collected that day no longer show sighs of Mendes Disease!
I wasn’t surprised- because deep down, I already knew that my son had been healed by Mighty God in Heaven.
I remember years ago, shortly after my son was diagnosed, I turned to the internet- especially Google- desperately searching for testimonies of miraculous healing from rare, fatal genetic disease. I was hoping to find even one story that might offer encouragement. But I found nothing...
Now, after witnessing the incredible miracles that God has worked in our son's life, I feel compelled to share our story with all of you who may be searching for the same kind of hope we once needed.
